Social Concerns Committee News: “Gifts for Baby Jesus” takes place December 3rd – 18th, 2022

Take a tag from the tree in front of the St. Joseph statue and help celebrate Jesus’ birthday with those less fortunate.

Birthright is most in need of the following items:

Diapers: size 4-6, wipes, Enfamil powdered formula, sippy cups, burp cloths, baby cereal or juice, receiving & fleece blankets, children’s underwear & socks – all sizes, baby books or small toys, laundry detergent, fleece or winter sleepers – most needed size 0-6 months & 6-7 years, outfits for baby boys & girls – size preemie to 9 months, pull ups size 3T – 5T, cloth diapers, regular baby bottles – 4oz & 8oz, bottle brushes, baby food – stages 1-3, bath items, T-shirts & onesies – size 0-9 months, diaper bags, teething rings, bibs

 

Mother Cabrini Food Collection for December 3 & 4, 2022:

Suggested food donations: boxed stuffing, spaghetti, taco kits, boxed mashed potatoes, pancake syrup, peanut butter/jelly, Ramen noodle soup, canned soup, canned vegetables, canned fruit, tuna fish, coffee, hominy beans, Hispanic foods, bottled water, and cooking oil.

We only accept donations of unused & unopened non-perishable food itemsPlease – NO non-food donations. Thank you for your generosity now and in the past! 

Bring your donations the the first weekend of each month and place them in the tub in the vestibule of the church.

The Mother Cabrini Food Pantry is open the second, third and fourth Saturdays of each month. Help is needed all of these days as well as on Fridays beginning at 2:30 p.m. to unload the truck that delivers the food. Please consider helping at any of these times.

The Social Concerns Committee is partnering with the Altar & Rosary Society to sponsor “Spiritual Adoption of the Unborn” again this year.

We are looking for parishioners who would like to be a member of the Social Concerns Committee.

We support several different ministries in our local community including Lorain County Birthright, St. Elizabeth Center (Homeless Shelter), Blessing House, and St. Frances’ Mother Cabrini Food Pantry to name a few.  Call the church office for the date and location of our next meeting.
